New Year's Eve

I've been loving this dessert.  It's a chocolate chip cookie inside a ramekin (sp?) with ice cream, chocolate sauce, and caramel on top.  Mike surprisingly didn't want one so Quinn and  I enjoyed our treat together.

We had plans to hang out with friends but that fell through.  We called another set of friends and luckily they didn't have anything going on either.  We invited them over and played games.  We called kind of late so we didn't get to play long.  Everyone was tired anyways so it worked out well.  (I think this means we are starting to get old!)  We probably would have stayed up later but Quinn was not going to go to sleep when there were people still over.  I don't blame him so we let him bring in the new year with us.

Happy Anniversary

We went out to eat at Garcia's.  This was my first time eating there and had no idea what to get.  Our waiter suggested the pollo fundido.  I wasn't too sure about it.  I ended up loving it!  I liked it so much I googled some recipes to make it at home.

We went and saw a movie.

We had several different ideas on how to celebrate our anniversary but decided against all of them since Mike still wasn't feeling well and neither was Quinn.  I felt bad leaving him overnight with Grandma and having him wake often because he couldn't breathe.  We'll have to save our trip/events for some other time.

Mike's birthday

Happy Birthday Mike!  Well, his presents weren't very exciting since he already knew what they were.  Quinn was very excited to help Dad and definitely wanted to try some of that cake.

Mike did get a birthday week.  We celebrated on our own, celebrated at his parents, and celebrated with friends.  He also got some special events like a guys night out.  Overall, he says he had a good birthday!

Christmas

We had a low key Christmas this year.  Mike and Quinn were both sick.  I was sick 2 weeks earlier.  I guess I was the nasty culprit who passed it on.

For Christmas Eve, we went over to Mike's parents.  We had dinner and exchanged gifts.

Christmas Day we chilled at home and had our own Christmas.  Quinn wasn't very interested in opening presents since he wasn't feeling very well.  I was kind of disappointed since I was so excited.  Instead of forcing him to open his gifts, we decided that we'd let him open them later.  He ended up opening some for the next three days.  He got into the swing of things real fast.  He assumed anything wrapped was his to open.  He did a good job too!

After Quinn had his nap, we went to Ririe to see my family.  We had great food and hung with the family.  Considering Quinn wasn't feeling too great; he enjoyed himself and was a super good boy!

Making cookies

We decided to make sugar cookies today. Boy, what a mess!

His apron didn't last too long.

He'd only lick the frosting off of his cookie and spit the actual cookie out.

He's actually trying to pose for this picture.  He loves his picture being taken.

Santa

Quinn does not like Santa...

Don't look too closely at his horrible hair cut.  Considering he's an 18 month old and won't stop moving, I didn't do too bad of a job.  Of course, it's in the front where I messed up. Hopefully, it will grow fast so no one can tell.
With Quinn's third time seeing Santa, I'd thought he'd warm up to the guy.  Nope!  Maybe next year...

I'm half way there!

I had my ultrasound today. We were able to find out the gender. Any guesses?

The baby is measuring right on schedule.  That makes my due date correct...March 22, 2012.
The baby kept having the hands by the mouth.  It looked like it was sucking it's thumb.  There were times it would be waving. We saw it opening and closing it's mouth.

It's kind of freaky looking.  She said it looks this way because of the angel she was taking the picture.

Sorry, she didn't give us any gender pictures.

It's a....

BOY!!!

My little stinker

Yes, this is what Quinn was for Halloween. I made his costume too. I was nervous that people wouldn't be able to tell what he was supposed to be. It worked out perfect! Everywhere he went people would make comments like, "Be careful, you're going to get sprayed."

We had to bribe him with candy to get his picture.  He'd pose for others but not for us.  So, better pictures are soon to come!
We had our trunk or treat ward party on Friday the 28th. There they had the kids line up and parade around the gym. This way everyone could see all the costumes. He started walking with the kids so I let him go off by himself. Then he realized people were cheering and taking pictures. He stopped dead in his tracks and started to pose. Then, his spectators really started to laugh. Quinn loved his costume. It brought him a lot of attention. Others mentioned that he wore the costume perfectly.

When Quinn would walk his tail would move with his body.  So cute!
One time, Mike had to lift Quinn's tail to check his diaper.  He smelled and mentioned how stinky he was.  Well, that's what you get for getting close to a skunk.

Havin' a good time

Quinn loves to listen to music on my phone. He especially loves wearing this head set. It gives him something more to play with. He'll plug the head set in and then take it out. He gets frustrated when he can't plug it back in. As you can see from the video, he loves to jam to the music. He knows how to get into my music library and to change songs.

This is what Quinn does when I'm getting ready for the day.  It's a whole lot easier that trying to hold him or entertain him.  He gets into a lot of trouble if he's not doing this.  Just look at that sexy body.

The Pumpkin Patch

After getting the garage door opener installed, we went to the pumpkin patch. I was excited to go to see what it was all about since I've never been before. I've heard all about it and was more curious than anything. Well, it was cool but not as cool as I had expected.  It was more like scattered pumpkins on some barren land.  The pumpkins were kind of expensive.  We got some good pictures and spent some good, quality time together.  (Isn't it about time?)  Oh, and getting ice cream after was great!
Quinn thought the train was super cool.  He didn't want to get off.

Quinn thought pushing the cart was super fun.  He'd be content just doing that for the rest of the night.

Quinn at the corn maze.  He didn't really like it.  He got frustrated that he couldn't tell where he was going.
