Scavenger Hunt

Mike kept telling me that he was surprised that I hadn't been snatched up yet at BYU-Idaho. He was grateful and that I was his little treasure. He said it enough that it gave me an idea. I would make him a treasure hunt.

I decided to make it a week long and give him only one clue per day. This was going to somewhat difficult since he was in Rexburg and I was in Ririe. I had a little bit of help from old roommates. The first clue I gave to him which was a puzzle and on the back I had written the message, "Sing, sing, sing. I like to sing. I like to sing a song. Sing, sing, sing. The next day I had my roommates go over to his apartment and sing him a song that told him where the next clue was. DeAnna put the clue inside a book about space. She later emailed him telling him what the title of the book was. The next clue was inside of a grocery store, then the tennis courts, at Gringos. I had a friend that worked there and told her that she needed to make sure that he worked for this clue. She made Mike sing a song and do a whole bunch of silly stuff in front of the customers. He claimed that he was a little embarrassed but it was all worth it. He received enough clues to take him back to my house. Once at my house, I made a whole lot more clues that he had to follow that eventually led him to a buried treasure that consisted of a coupon book, some treasure chocolates, a map, and some other fine jewelery. In the end, since "X" marks the spot and I was wearing the "X", I was the treasure.

My family helped me put this treasure hunt together and gave me a lot of ideas. Looking back I'm kind of surprised that I ended up doing this only after knowing him for one month. My brother Jarom told me that I put more work and thought into this treasure than anyone has ever paid attention to him. I think because of the effort that this took, this help Mike fall in love with me even faster. I had a lot of fun.
