A wonderful Sunday afternoon

Mike's sister and her family were in town due to someone passing away in the family. We were able to visit with them on Sunday at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We had a wonderful potluck lunch and had the opportunity of playing with Grandpa's new toy. He won a John Deere car (I forgot at what...maybe at an auction) and became proud of it. Before Gina and family arrived he was showing it off and Grandma and Grandpa BEGGED for me to get in it. He stated that the weight limit was 120-130 lbs. and that I should be able to ride it. So, to make Grandpa and Grandma happy I did what they asked. Let's say that it was a little cramped but I was able to drive it. Gina's kids were able to fit in it a little better and were able to enjoy it more than I did.

A new love

I was introduced to Settlers of Catan over at my parent's house by Dan and Allyx. I loved the game. Then Mike and I were invited over to a friend's house for game night. Lo and Behold we end up playing Settlers. Mike also loved the game. I believe we ended up playing two or three games that night. We were invited by the same couple to come over the next night but things got busy and we weren't able to make it. For sure, we played the night after that. It was that evening we decided we would splurge and ended up buying the game online. Since we've owned the game we've played almost everyday since with random people.

Extra time on my hands

Last a freakish thing happened. I couldn't work with my clients because either they ran out of hours or they were out of town. I put my time to good use and finished a dress I started a few weeks ago. I'm very proud of this dress since this is the first one that I've made. Also, I made a skirt about a month ago. The skirt is the first thing I've sewn all by myself. Yes, I've already worn both to church. Here are pictures of the final products. I'm sure it would look better on but since I wasn't in the mood to model this will have to do for now.

April Fool's

Mike and his family has this tradition where they play jokes on each other on Halloween and April Fool's Day. One evening we were talking about what we could do for his Grandpa this year on April Fool's. We came up with making him a rat cake. He really HATES rats!!! This is our final product.

Greg the rat (see explanation below)

Grandpa and Greg

While we there we decided that we would name the rat Greg. (Sorry Greg. It was Mike's idea.) This is because Greg couldn't be there with us and we were missing him. Greg likes to join in the fun of April Fooling and might be the most die heart out of all. He ended up calling and the family was able to talk with him. :)

We had a wonderful dinner and were able to visit. We just love going over to Grandma and Grandpa's house. We didn't stay long because we had to get in bed for work the next day.
