I went to the biggest birthday party ever. Mike's grandparent's celebrated their 80th birthday. Dale's birthday was June 1 and Sharon's actually isn't until July 3.

I just want to say Happy Birthday and thank you for all the wonderful things you do for us. We love you!!!

Air Show

I attended an air show with my family in Rexburg. It was a lot of fun since there was family there that I haven't seen in a long time. I (Mike had to work) showed up during the last part. I think my Dad was pleased to see so many family members and friends there to share in with his hobby. Yes, my Dad has loved airplanes for as long as I can remember. He bought an airplane (I think 2 years ago) and absolutely loves it. He will use any excuse he can to fly it. He volunteers over at the Rexburg airport anytime he can find extra time. He's even gotten my little sister Michelle volunteering as well.

The Dating Olympics

Tyler Johnson had super good idea for date night. Earlier in the day Caryn texted me asking if Mike and I would like to come over for "The Dating Olympics." I wasn't sure exactly what that meant but we always have fun with Caryn and Ty so we agreed. I'll admit I was kind of nervous. Caryn and Ty are both really competitive and athletic. I had in mind doing some super strenous things. So that Mike wouldn't back out I didn't tell him what we were doing other than going over the Caryn and Ty's. Then to be fair, on the way over, I told him that Ty had planned some events for us to do. He seemed okay with that.

Nevertheless, we didn't have to run around the house a few times or do a trialthon. Instead...

Our 1st event: EGG TOSS

Don't let the raw egg drop. We took turns throwing and catching the egg. Fortuanetly, we didn't ever drop our egg but when I went to catch it the last time it exploded all over me. I got raw egg on my eye and in my hair. Ewww...GROSS!!! Since Caryn and Ty dropped their egg first this event went to us. WINNER: MIKE AND ANGIE

Our 2nd event: BOWLING

For this event we did bowling on the wii. We took each of the couple's score and added them together. I thought that Mike and I did well but not as good as Ty's 7 strikes. Final score: Mike and Angie-315 & Ty and Caryn-344 WINNER: CARYN AND TY

Our 3rd event: GOLF PUTT

The golf putt consisted of five putts per person, and the couple with the most made putts would emerge as the winner. This event came down to the last putt. We were tied with each couple having put in three putts. Caryn was on putt #5 and she needed to make it to win. Mike and I were holding our breath and.....AWWW!!!! Caryn made it. WINNER: TYLER AND CARYN

Our 4th event: PAPER AIRPLANE THROW

We folded our planes and then it was time to fly! The couple with the highest combined distance was the winner. Everyone was able to get their's through the doorway but for some reason I couldn't. (Very frustrating!!!) Caryn was impressive. Her's went the farthest by just a bit. WINNER: CARYN AND TY

Our 5th event: PAPER, ROCK, SCISSORS

The fifth and final event: paper, rock, scissors. We played the best of seven each round. We had so much fun and got lots of laughs with this one. Mike and Caryn kept tying and Caryn ended up beating him with rock each time. This turned out with Tyler and Caryn winning 3 and Mike and Angie winning 1. WINNER: TYLER AND CARYN

AWARD CEREMONY

With the events completed, we were ready to award medals. We received silver medals with Tyler and Caryn getting gold. Our medals were Ding Dongs put together with ribbon.

We had so much fun with the Dating Olympics we've already talked about doing it again with different events and having Mike and Angie host so this time we can have the home team advantage.
