Quinn won!

Quinn entered a coloring contest with our insurance company. Just for entering they gave him a coloring book with crayons and a huge pixie stick. While we there submitting our page he also got a water bottle and pop corn.  He was loving it and it felt like he had already won.

A week later we get a phone call stating that he had won the coloring contest and that his prize should come in the mail a day later.  I told Quinn and he was way excited for the mail to come.

When I handed him the envelope he opened it and immediately went inside.  He started coloring his page with chalk.  (We were outside drawing with chalk..see post below.)

Then he realized there was money.  Yep, $5.  Wow!  He definitely was excited now.
He admired and admired that money.  He hauled it everywhere with him.  I finally snuck it away when he went down for nap.  I put it in his piggy bank.  He decided to save his money.  I told him he was going to get more money for his birthday and if he saved it he could get a better toy.  He was okay with that.

Even as I write this he's asking for his money. Maybe, it won't stay in his piggy bank as long as I had thought. It's already starting to tear from him manhandling it.

When Daddy came home that night, you can guess what it was that Quinn showed him.  When Grandma came over, he also showed it to her.
This is his coloring page that won him the contest.  I'm surprised he won.  This coloring was not very good.  He can do much better.  He almost can stay in the lines.  It's so cute to see him try.  He concentrates very hard and goes slow.  He is a good colorer when he wants to be.

Chalk

I want to remember all the many hours I have spent outside drawing with chalk in our driveway.  This is the perfect time of year to do this.  In the summer the pavement is just too hot to draw on.

I love all of the things that interest Quinn.  I have drawn dinosaurs, trains, people, dogs, and many more things.  Quinn's favorite is getting his outline drawn or outlining mine.  We both have come indoors completely covered in color and dirty.  I don't mind...I got to spend some precious moments with my little man.

Paxton is enjoying drawing too.  He's horrible with chalk.  All he wants to do is eat it.  He's not allowed near the chalk and that makes him upset.  I am looking forward to when Paxton can be more interactive with it.
This is a train that Quinn drew.
I think that he's trying to decide what to draw next.
