I ran my first 5K this morning. This is quite an accomplishment for me. Any of you that know me (or that did track with me...how embarassing!) would know that I am horrible at running. I was always the worst. I'm not even sure why I tried doing it. I don't exactly remember but I think I ended up quitting the team. That was right after they handed out uniforms (I don't remember what they're called) and I didn't get one because I was so bad. They were only given to the upper classman which I happened to be and I still didn't get one. I couldn't take the humiliation anymore!
I was still bad in college, etc. Anyways, you get the picture. This is why I feel good about this time.
I have another 5K in August. I hope to improve my time. I want to do it in 30 minutes. Today I wish I would've pushed myself a little harder but was afraid to. I thought I would push too hard and have to stop. I did not want to stop. The race went by so fast. It's all a blur now. I do remember thinking it was a lot easier than I had anticipated it being.
The weather was perfect too. It's been lightly raining so it's partly cloudy. The temperature is cool. I'm so glad it wasn't bloody hot.
I loved getting all of the free stuff too. Just at regristration there was free frozen yogurt and Jimmy John's. Quinn and Paxton loved trying all of the frozen yogurt flavors. Then after the race I got my calfs massaged. My calfs are ultra sensitive and the massage was really needed. It hurt but felt great!
It was a great first experience 5K run. The only thing that would make it better would be to have my family there at the finish line. I think they're planning to be there in August. :)

June and July snapshots
6/25: We went on a day trip to Utah. We had an appointment. So, we decided to leave the boys home and go to Seven Peaks. I'm glad we left them home. We wouldn't have had as much fun. We would've arrived right at nap time. We would've had to take turns watching them to go on the slides.
The first slide Mike went on was a mat/sled slide. He lost his sled and somehow managed to biff it. He jarred himself prett bad. He was hurting but tried to be a good sport. He didn't want to ruin the fun especially since we had just arrived there. I went on a few rides alone while he went back to the car to get some ibprofen. I wanted to make good use of my time so I didn't mind.
This is the only picture we took. It's not very good since we are on our way home. This is after our long day of swimming. We stopped for some lunch/dinner.
Notice our matching shirts? His sister Gina gave them to us for Christmas. She lives in Minnesota.
6/28: Look at this handsome hunk of burning love. Isn't he just adorable? I love everything about this little body...his filthiness, smile, hair, belly, fallen shorts...need I go on?
We have spent a lot of time in our backyard. It's so hot so water is naturally in the equation.
Look at this smile!
Playing in the hose...
It's a million degress outside and Quinn still wants his blanket. At first I thought he was bringing it outside to sit on. Then he wraps up in it...unbelievable!
Even though it's hot Paxton does not want to be in cold water. I brought out some hot water from inside to make it more enjoyable for him.
Paxton lost his diaper. What a cute bum!
7/1: I finally took Quinn and Paxton to the splash park. It took Quinn a long time to warm up to the idea of being there. I had to go with him. Paxton wanted nothing to do it with it. He just wanted to sit on the blanket. He was content to just play with this cup..the whole time.
I love watching Quinn have fun and doing new things. I love everything about him.
Quinn would only play in the little parts of the park. I finally got him to go down the slide at the end if I put him on the slide. That made it so that he didn't have to go up and through the water splashing.
Quinn got a bike for learning to poop in the toilet. He loves this bike and does a good job riding it too. He went around the block with no problems. The block is .5 miles.
7/3: We did fireworks for Quinn. He kept saying that they're too loud. He says that about most things. He's our sound guru.
Once again Paxton is just sitting there. He's content as long as he's with someone.
7/4: Paxton fell asleep at the fireworks. I put him on this blanket. I layed down with him because I wanted to make sure he didn't get trampled on in the dark. I was snuggling with him and I looked up and saw the temple. It touched my heart. I love this little boy so much, I love the temple, and the promises of the temple. I love knowing that I can be with him forever.
Paxton is so cute...sleeping.
6/27: Paxton learned to walk...finally. He walks drunken still. He kind of has a side sweep of a walk. He waddles. It's so cute.

Quinn is so proud of wearing big boy underwear!
This happened a while ago (before he turned 3). I didn't want to forget the story.
I was putting Paxton down to sleep. I told Quinn that he needed to be quiet. Usually he turns on the tv and watches a show or picks a toy and plays with it. He is so good that I don't have to worry about him...usually.
I hear Quinn yelling, "Hello, How are you? I'm in here!" He was chanting off different saying like that. I knew the window was open so I didn't think much of it. I thought he was talking to people walking by. As long as he was inside and he couldn't get hurt or wander off I thought I was just hold out. I thought that he would stop yelling.
Well, he never stopped. Paxton was excited and thought it was play time since he could hear his voice. I finally went out and wanted to see what he was doing. I walk out and the front door is wide open. I peek and I see Quinn naked. This was puzzling because a few minutes ago he was fully dressed. I asked him where his clothes were. He points in two different spots in different directions. The neighbors across the street and next door were outside. They proceed to tell me that he was showing them that he wears big boy underwear. He first took off his shirt and waved it above his head and then threw it. He then took off his shorts, waved them above his head, and then threw them. Then he took off his underwear and did the same thing. The neighbors were saying that he was quite commical. He was so proud that he wanted to show them off. Who knew that he already knows how to do a strip tease?
I took him inside and had a nice little chat with him while making him get dressed. I still laugh and smile at how cute he is each time I think of the story.
