I made jam for the first time
My friend Les came over and gave us a whole flat of strawberries. Les is always doing such nice things for our little family. The agreement was that whatever I used the strawberries for he would get a portion of them as well. I thought that was a good deal. I spent some time on the Internet googling how to make it and all the recipes were the same. Luckily, they were the same on the package directions as well. It didn't seem too hard so I thought I'd give it a try. It turned out great. I even figured out how to can them too. That was the part I was mainly worried about. I left the last bit with Mike since I had somewhere to go. I had to wait to see if it worked or not. Mike did a good job!

Quinn's Boo-Boo
Mike and I were watching a movie while Quinn was playing with his toys on the floor. He came toward me to get my attention. As he was leaving, he tripped on his blanket, and fell. I saw that he was falling and tried catching him. Obviously, I was too late. His eye hit the corner on the reclining part of the couch. I knew he hurt but I didn't realize he was bleeding. I picked him up and held him with his back toward me. Mike was the one that noticed the blood.
We thought that we would be brilliant and use that liquid band-aid stuff. Let's just say that is the most horrible stuff ever! It wouldn't ever dry and apparently it stung when we put it on his wound. We didn't have any little kid sized band-aides. Mike decided to go to the store to get some. On the way back, he stopped at the neighbors, who is an endodontis, and asked him for suggestions. Mike was super worried about Quinn needing stitches. Quinn didn't act too hurt so I wasn't too worried. He was playing and walking around like nothing happened.
The endodontis friend suggested to super glue it. That's exactly what we did. Mike held his head and I was holding onto his legs. Val did the gluing. I was impressed. It dried quickly, it didn't sting, and didn't even come close to getting into his eyes.

Quinn dancing
Quinn has taken a fascination with music. When it comes on he can't help but to move. He usually goes more crazy than this. I've tried many times to get him on camera. I either just miss him or he takes more interest in the camera and stops dancing. In addition to him bouncing up and down and tapping his leg; he turns in a circle and bops his head. This clip is the best I could get of him dancing.
FYI: Usually we listen to one of Quinn's kids' CD. He happened to turn on the radio and this is what was on.

Quinn hates Shephard's Pie
I had some leftover ingredients perfect for making Shepherd's pie. Shepherd's pie doesn't take long to make so I was all for an easy night of making dinner. I gave Quinn his portion and went through the routine of preparing his food. He took a big bite and immediately spit it out. He wouldn't take another bite and started to play with his food. Before he made a mess, I decided to let him down. I put his tray and his bowl of food on the table to clean his hands and wipe his face. Right when his little feet hit the floor; he grabbed his bowl and spoon, walked over to the garbage, and started scooping his Shepherd's pie into the garbage. Mike and I just started laughing.
Smart boy! This way he'd make sure to not ever eat that stuff again. He notices that where I put the food he usually doesn't finish. He knows once it goes in it doesn't come back out. We were thoroughly impressed.
