On Goings

1. Does Quinn like cantelope?  He got into the fridge and this is what he chose for his snack.  Well, at least it's healthy.  For some reason, it made me smile.  I don't think the picture does it justice.  There is absolutely nothing left on the rind.

2. Mike has been talking about going to Red Lobster for quite some time now.  I decided to get a group together and just go.  We went this last Saturday.  We enjoyed our company but agreed that this is something that we probably won't go do again.  The food wasn't good as expected.  Going to Pocatello for what we got, just isn't worth it.

Thank you friends for having an enjoyable evening with us and making it possible for Mike to get his night out at Red Lobster.
3. Lately, I've been having some bad stomach cramps.  The weird thing is that they occur at night.  I lay in bed for about 30-40 minutes and they start.  It's like I'm getting the stomach flu (getting all the symptoms) but the stomach pain is so much worse.  I get up and just wait it out.  They eventually go away.  It has left me with a lot of sleepless nights.  It's real annoying because if I want to go to bed at a decent time I have to start my process of going to sleep early.

Of course, I have the normal pregnancy woes.  If this is all I have to complain about; I've been really blessed.  I haven't had any of the problems like with my last pregnancy.  This pregnancy has been totally been different.  Sure I have some symptoms but at least I won't be hospitalized this time around...or haven't been.

Proof

We decided to move Quinn out of the nursery into his own room (at least until they're on the same sleeping schedule). One concern was transitioning him to a twin bed. I had anxieties about it since time is getting cut short.  I wanted to start transitioning him in January.  We've been sick and still had other things to do that took priority over switching Quinn to his new room.

I moved Quinn's toys and stuff over quite a bit before the bed arrived.  He was getting used to playing in there and getting dressed in his new room.  When we got his bed, he was super excited about it and would play on it and around it.  When I laid him down for a nap for the first time, it was no big deal.  He didn't fight me on it and just accepted that was where he was going to sleep.

The first night he did fight us on going to sleep; so we put him in his crib.  The next night it took longer than normal to put him down but he slept through the night.  The next night he didn't fight at all.  Now, he refuses to sleep in the crib.  I think he likes having the extra room.  He doesn't get his limbs tangled in the bars.

I admit that it was kind of weird not having him in the crib anymore.  It's like a milestone...meaning that my baby boy is growing up.  At the same time, I love him growing and learning.  I love seeing things through the eyes of a child where everything is still new and exciting.
This is Quinn enjoying his bath time crayons.  He loves these crayons!

A rough couple of weeks

As you all know, Quinn had to get stitches in his eye.  Well, immediately following that incident, Quinn developed a cold.  Not a big deal, right? After a week of having his cold, it turned into bronchitis.  He also had a left ear infection.  I knew Quinn had more than just a cold when he wouldn't sleep.  He didn't sleep at all one night and one day.  He finally slept the next night with the help of medicine.  Thank goodness too because I don't think I could handle another sleepless night.

Shortly following that, Quinn got the stomach flu.  Then Mike got it, and then I got it.  It was horrible.  Finally, when Quinn was sleeping through the night, I was up all night with diarrhea.  Luckily, it didn't last too long.  I was basically over it within the next 48 hours.

Now we are happy to report that we are all doing better.  Quinn still is on medication and has some remnants of his bronchitis.  His appetite is back.  He didn't eat for days.  But, all is well!

Oh, and now he is teething.  Ugh!  It still makes him clingy and is hard on a pregnant woman!
