I just started a new job in Idaho Falls. I work in a partial care with lots of kids. I am a social worker but in the setting I work in the kids call me a teacher. I'm known as Ms. Angie. It's kind of like a daycare but it's known as a behavior modification program. Basically, the objective is to create a bubble where the kids can learn necessary skills to live in the real world.
I'm really scared to start a new job after what happened at Journeys. I'm trying to make the best of it. I'm not liking the idea of working but feel this is something that I need to do. For some reason, I feel uneasy about not being home as much and I'm really scared to drive to Idaho Falls everyday.

Mike stealing a duck
One of Mike's and I favorite place to go is the duck ponds in Rexburg. We have spent a lot of time there. We'll go for picnics, walks, to feed the ducks, to talk, etc. Mike for some reason also has an obsession with ducks. He will try to catch them for fun. He has even jumped in after them. One particular evening, Mike decided that he would keep the duck that he caught. No one was around and so it wasn't hard to stuff him in the car. Mike fed him some of our leftovers which was mainly noodles. He even went across the walk way to look in the trash for something more to feed this duck. At first I thought he was kidding but then I realized that he was actually driving away. I was so angry with Mike. I didn't want a pesty bird inside of my apartment and especially not in my bathtub. If anyone found out where we got this duck we probably could have been in a lot of trouble. I didn't talk to Mike for a few days because I felt like my space was being crowded and the aroma in the apartment just stunk. Well, he finally got sick of the duck and returned him to his home.
He wanted to see if he fed and cared for this duck if it could be bigger than his brothers and sisters. In reality, when we returned the duck he was quite a bit smaller. He also felt for the young ducklings since it was just starting to turn into winter weather. He didn't think that they could make it through the season. We went back the next year and they did just fine.

Going to Las Vegas
Mike and I briefly talked about how cool it would be to be able to go somewhere during our break. We talked about it was if we were really going to go. It was two days before that Mike asked me, "What if I could make it happen?" Well of course I got super excited and thought about all the things that we would need to do. I suggested that we could go camping or do something that wasn't so far away and that wasn't so expensive. He then commented on that this is our opportunity to do things before parenthood. I agreed and off we went. Mike drove almost the entire way except for when the weather decided to turn and it was snowing really hard. It was so bad that we couldn't see anything in front of us and had no idea where the road was. Mike happened to sleeping waking suddenly and jerking the car off the road to help prevent someone running into us. Oh. I almost forgot...there was another incident where I was also driving. Apparently I was going to fast for what the car could handle over the hills and bumps and stuff. I almost overheated the car and we were stuck for some time. Eventually the car started, we took it easy, and found the next gas station. All it needed was some water and oil.
While in Las Vegas we did a lot of sight seeing. We stopped at almost all the free shows. We ate at a hotel buffet and the best breakfast we found was on the outskirts of town in a bar. We stopped there before going home. On of the rememberable tourist attraction was observing the rides on top of a tower thing. I can't remember the hotel it's on top of or what it's called. But that was my favorite.

Dan's getting married
I'm so proud of Dan taking this step. Yup, he finally did it. He got married. I love Allyx and she is so perfect for him. They are so cute together.
One thing that I regret is that I wasn't able to make it to his wedding. I feel so bad for not being able to share this time with family. I felt left out. I enjoyed looking at all the pictures that were taken and they were all so beautiful. I'll be able to see Dan and Allyx when they have their reception here in Idaho.

Our Cruise
Mike and I went on a cruise in April as a part of our honeymoon. We weren't able to go in December since everything happened so fast. We had two stops; one in Cozumel and the other in _______. In Cozumel we had to find a taxi to get to the mainland. The unfortunate thing is that we couldn't speak Spanish and we were lucky to meet a couple that knew the language. We went to the beach but had to pay to swim in certain parts. We refused to pay at first and they were ready to kick us off. We finally gave in since we didn't know what else we would do. The part that we paid for we had a swimming pool that wasn't full of salt water. That was better for Mike since he has such sensitive skin. After the beach we found another taxi that took us to the ruins. We thought that they would be a little different than what they were. We found some lizards along the way that frankly just scared me.
The next day a bus was provided for us to take us to the shops. We shopped around and tried to haggle everyone. There was one lady that just wouldn't budge. We asked and asked and asked. We left since we knew we wouldn't get our way. We thought that we would try one more time. Still she told us no. We thought that she was funny and had to take a picture with her. After we just walked around the city but didn't stay too long. It was way too hot and Mike was starting to get sun burnt.
Being on the ship was fun. They had a lot of activities for us to do. Our favorite part was the formal dinners. We could order anything that we wanted and however much we wanted. Our waitors made us feel like royalty. They would have us do certain things during dinner to make it more entertaining.
We joined a lot of activities like the bean bag toss, country dancing, karoke, etc. We would go the late night shows. Karoke was the funniest since everyone was drunk. There was this one gal that would get involved in everything. She was so funny and so energetic. I couldn't believe some of the things that she would do. Although, right now I can't think of any examples.

My Wedding Reception
Mike and I had our wedding reception 3 weeks after we got married. We had to do it this way since everything went so fast and we didn't get announcements out in time. Unfortunately, Jan. 20, 2007 was a cold wintry blistery night. Not as many people came as we expected. It was still great though. My family, particularly my mother, did a wonderful job making everythhing so beautiful. The truth of the matter is that I didn't see what the gym looked like until a few minutes before. All I had to do was get dressed in my wedding dress. Okay, I also help clean but I still think I got a good deal.
I love my family for all the work they put into my reception and the wedding. Because of them, everything fell into place. I have them to thank for making it all happen.
