A gift from Baby's Grandma

I don't really have any pictures of me being pregnant. So I'd thought I'd post pictures of me opening this gift from Mike's mom. Things like this make me more excited for my baby to come. Thank you Karen for taking the time to make all of the blankets. I love them and I'm sure baby will love them too.

Michelle's Junior Miss

I feel so proud of Michelle of who she has become and the wonderful person she is. She did Junior Miss this year and did such a good job. While watching her performance I kind of got teary eyed (maybe the hormones from the pregnancy make me more emotional.)

I thought Michelle had the best talent. By the sound of the crowd they did too.

MYSTERY DINNER

Finally! Mike and I had the opportunity to attend a mystery dinner. Mike and I were practicing our characters around the house a week before it started. (That's how excited we were!)

I was assigned to be Malissa A.K.A. Scoop. If you can't tell by the picture, I am supposed to be a news reporter. I got my nickname because I'm the best. I'm really good at finding out information and getting people to talk. Mike went as Ernie; a young rich stock broker.

Fortunately, we were NOT the murderers although we both wanted Hal Cappone DEAD!

We had such a good dinner mixed with card playing and gambling (Ernie's favorite past time.)

Thanks Dale and Sonnet for hosting!

A fun project

I picked out some nursery bedding for my little boy's crib. I wanted to have some things to decorate but didn't want to spend the money on it. So, I decided to paint my own pictures that would match.

I'm quite proud of these paintings since I don't have much artistic ability. Also, I've never used oil paints before. For me, this is quite an accomplishment.

It's a...

We had a doctor's appointment Jan. 12. The doctor said my uterus measured to be bigger than how many weeks I actually was. (I measured to be at 20 weeks when I was actually 18 weeks 5 days.) He wanted to get me in for my ultrasound as soon as possible to see why.

I was instructed to drink 32 oz. of liquid one hour before I arrived for my ultrasound. This was to ensure I had a full bladder. Of course, I was late getting in and had a miserable time holding it.

They started the ultrasound and promised that within a few minutes they'd let me go to the bathroom. Well, it ended up being longer than expected since the baby was in a good position for the tests he was running. I wanted to endure it since I wanted the best pictures of our little one.

Since I was allowed to empty my bladder, I was paranoid that we wouldn't be able to find out the sex. Our baby was being uncooperative for that part of the test beforehand. Fortunately, the baby did move positions and we were able to find out. It's a...

BOY!

During the ultrasound we learned that our baby is doing well and is healthy. We also learned that the baby measured to be at 19 weeks 1 day. They changed my due date from June 10 to June 7.

New Years Eve

Happy 2010!

New Year's Eve was so fun. I took a nap to make sure I'd be rested for the evening of events.

Mike and I went over to Dale and Sonnet's house. The boys were able to play digital death until 9:00 since Sonnet was working at the library. I was the only girl for a few so I was the fourth player. At first, the game was very confusing to me. Then I amazed myself and I think everyone else. The last round I got 5 kills. Way, better than 0.

When Sonnet finally arrived home she had an array of fondue. We had chocolate, cheese, and meat fondue. I've never had meat fondue and everyone seemed to love it! I pigged out mainly on chips and cheese! MmMmMm!

Mike and I made a trivia game that entailed New Years, 2009, and Christmas. For the most part I felt it was a success. A few of the questions were too hard to be answered but...oh well!

We played Catch Phrase and then expectantly....midnight struck. We popped out the sparkling cider and then debated what to do for the rest of the time. Tyler, Sonnet, and I went downstairs and played rock band until about 2:00 A.M. Everyone else just visited or found something else to do with their time.

By the time we were home nothing else was on our mind beside sleep.

Happy Anniversary!

We didn't do much since we were so tired from the holiday and doing family stuff all week....and I wasn't feeling the best. Mike's mom didn't leave until early afternoon so our festivities started that evening.

We started out by taking a much needed nap. Then, neither of us felt like cooking so we went out for Chinese.

Afterward, we decided to go and rent a movie. (We rented The Carriers which was kind of lame and disappointing.) We copied our friends Caryn and Ty in that we also made a fort to watch our movie in. Since it didn't leave a good feeling afterward, we decided to watch clips from the movie Up.

Later, Mike was so nice and decided to give me a massage. Then, I think we got tired and went to bed....
